You should know that one of the most popular features of this area of the canton of Valais is its ski resort, where the Women's Ski World Cup is held every year, and which in 2027 will host the Alpine Ski World Championships forty years after the last time.

Skiing at Crans Montana: the slopes

Some of the runs start from the highest point in the area, i.e. the Plaine-Morte glacier, where you can linger and admire the snow-covered peaks of some of the highest mountains in the Alps and even experience the thrill of sleddog, i.e. driving a sled pulled by a husky pack.

The slopes are also open to all skiers.

Elder adults can drive the sled independently after receiving instructions from the instructors, while children must enjoy the ride while seated on the sled driven by a professional, who is called a musher.

 

Crans Montana: the Snowpark

Experienced skiers, snowboarders and freestylers absolutely cannot miss the snowpark, where with 40 modules including jumps, rails, super-pipes and mini-pipes, they can enjoy the experience to the fullest and also train for competitive events and competitions.

The minipark located nearby is also part of the snowpark, but comprises around 20 modules and is dedicated to the less experienced riders who want to train and increase their skills with less demanding routes.


Cross-country skiers and tobogganers will also be able to enjoy themselves on almost 20 km of trails, and can also take advantage of the golf courses.

 

Night skiing at Crans Montana

For those who want to experience something out of the ordinary, on the last day of the year and then every Saturday from New Year's Eve to the beginning of March, it will be possible to night ski on the Verdets slope (located just over two hundred metres above Crans-Montana), which can be reached by a dedicated gondola.

Music and a special menu at the Arnouva restaurant will surround this experience and make it unforgettable, before proceeding with the return to the village scheduled for 10pm, which is the time of the last descent of the Montana-Arnouva gondola.
